Abdio MKV Video Converter is a commercial video converter. It allows you to convert some video files to the MKV format, which is incredibly popular these days for the distribution of high definition content and videos with multiple audio and subtitle tracks. The application, at least the trial version that you can download, has very limited input format support. In fact, you can only open 3GP, AVI, WMV and ASF files. With the exception of AVI files, all those formats are becoming less and less popular with time.
After you find a file that you can open with this app, there are only a few things that you can change. There is a drop-down menu for the output format, but I couldn't move it at all. The only format supported seems to be MKV. Below that you can set the output path. And at the bottom are four other drop-down menus that let you change the resolution, video encoder, audio encoder, and audio sample rate.
In my testing, I was unable to open a single file with this app. Regardless of the format that I used (even those that are supported), not one of the files that I tried worked. All I got was a screen saying that that format wasn't supported in the trial version.
